PLAYWITHOMM

The playwithOMM initiative first started in 2014 as a platform for musicians in the community to read symphonic repertoire with the orchestra under the baton of OMM's conductors.

playwithOMM aims to give musicians in the community their first exposure to standard repertoire in a symphonic orchestra. It also aims to provide working adults who are out of touch with their instruments a chance to reconnect with music and orchestral playing.

To date, OMM has welcomed over 120 participants from ages 13 to 40 to explore together a wide range of repertoire from Beethoven and Berlioz to Tchaikovsky and Mahler. Guests are paired with OMM members during the three-hour sessions. The session also allows musicians from all backgrounds to interact and share their experiences.
